Product description

Calumet^® Drakeol^® 21 Mineral Oil USP is a high-purity white mineral oil refined from petroleum, composed of saturated paraffinic and naphthenic hydrocarbons. It is a clear, colorless, essentially odorless and tasteless liquid, chemically stable and inert under normal conditions of use.

Drakeol^® 21 is inhibited with less than 20 ppm dl-alpha tocopherol (Vitamin E) and is manufactured to meet applicable USP/NF pharmacopeial and FDA food-contact requirements, making it suitable for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food-industry applications.

Typical applications

Calumet^® Drakeol^® 21 is suitable for use in applications including:

• Cosmetics: baby oils, creams and lotions, suntan oils, sunscreens, hair products, makeups, makeup removers, absorption bases, depilatories, bath oils
• Pharmaceuticals: laxatives, topical ointments, gelatin capsule lubricants, active ingredient carrier
• Food industry: bakery pan oils, divider oils, animal feed dedusting, mold release lubricants, egg coatings, coatings for fruits and vegetables, food packaging materials, food-grade lubricants and greases, meat packaging
• Veterinary: adjuvants and injectable carriers (lower-viscosity grades)
• General industrial processing

Storage and handling
