Shell Rotella ELC NF Concentrate 1*55 GAL DRUM

Shell Rotella® ELC Nitrite Free (NF) is a concentrate antifreeze/coolant based on proven Shell Rotella® ELC OAT technology for extended life operation up to 600,000 miles/12,000 hours in medium and heavy duty diesel, gasoline, and natural gas vehicles and 150,000 miles in passenger cars and light trucks. Nitrite free formulation provides improved protection of aluminium components in modern engines including brazed aluminium heat exchangers and meets many of the newest OEM specifications.

Performance & Features

  • 1,200,000 miles (Class 8 trucks) with proper maintenance
  • ~600,000 miles / 12,000 hours in general heavy-duty use
• No SCA (Supplemental Coolant Additives) required
• Excellent protection against:
  • Cylinder liner pitting (cavitation)
  • Corrosion of cooling system metals
  • Water pump wear
• Outstanding heat transfer performance

Compatibility

• Compatible with other ELC coolants (mixing allowed but not recommended for full life benefits)

  • Conventional coolants (limited mixing)
• Dilution limit:
  • Do not exceed 15–20% with non-equivalent coolants or water

Maintenance Guidelines

• Service life:
  • Up to 1,000,000 km–1,200,000 miles (depending on application)
• Extender required at mid-life (typically ~500,000 km for some systems)
• Coolant condition check:
  • Color: red
  • Freeze point: approximately -26°C to -51°C range
• Maintain OEM drain/flush/recharge procedures
