Miles® Caustic Soda Beads are white, free-flowing solid sodium hydroxide in bead (pearl) form. The beads dissolve quickly in water, releasing heat.
They are used in drain and industrial cleaners, soap and detergent making, pH adjustment, water treatment, and chemical manufacturing. The product is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from the air, so keep containers tightly closed.

Miles® Caustic Soda Beads is suitable for use in applications including:
Store in tightly closed, dry containers; the beads absorb moisture and carbon dioxide from the air. Keep away from acids and moisture.
When dissolving, add the beads slowly to water (never water to beads), as dissolution releases heat. Never store in aluminum containers, and avoid magnesium, zinc, tin and chromium.
