Product description

Miles^® Heptane is a clear, colorless, fast-evaporating aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent with a mild petroleum-like odor. The commercial grade is typically a blend of heptane isomers.

It is widely used for cleaning and degreasing, as a carrier in adhesives, coatings and inks, and as an extraction solvent. It is highly flammable, insoluble in water, and soluble in most organic solvents.

Miles^® Heptane is suitable for use in applications including:

• Cleaning and degreasing
• Carrier solvent in adhesives, coatings and inks
• Extraction solvent
• General-purpose non-polar solvent

Product features

• Fast-evaporating solvent with a distillation range of about 94–100°C
• Effective non-polar solvency for oils, greases and similar organic materials
• Insoluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents
• Supplied in drum quantities for production and maintenance use

Storage and handling

Store in tightly closed, properly labeled containers in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from heat, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. Ground and bond containers during transfer to prevent static discharge.

Avoid contamination with incompatible materials.
