Product description

Miles^® Xylene is a colorless, flammable aromatic solvent with a sweet odor. It is supplied as a mixture of ortho-, meta- and para-xylene isomers, and technical grades may include some ethylbenzene.

It has strong solvency for resins, oils and coatings, and is widely used in paints, coatings, adhesives, and industrial cleaning.

Typical applications

Miles^® Xylene is suitable for use in applications including:

• Paints, coatings and adhesives formulation
• Industrial cleaning and degreasing
• Resin and oil solvent
• Chemical processing solvent

Product features

• Strong solvency for resins, oils and coatings
• Boiling range of 135–145°C gives slower drying than light aliphatic solvents
• Low water solubility; mixes with common organic solvents
• A standard, widely used industrial solvent

Storage and handling

Store in tightly closed, properly labeled containers in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from heat, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. Xylene can attack some coatings, plastics and rubber, so verify material compatibility.

Keep away from strong oxidizers.
